Fashion : 2013 Cannes Film Festival

The annual Cannes Film Festival is a prestigious, invite-only event commemorating the best films and movies from around the globe. This year's Cannes Film Festival is no different. Celebrities from different parts of the world were seen styling gorgeous and exquisite outfits from famous and talented designers.

Sharon Stone was seen sashaying an elegant, porcelain white drapey Roberto Cavalli dress which gorgeously accentuated her curves. The interesting cut out at the back made the dress simple yet sleek. Stone paired the dress with a pair of dangling earrings and a cuff bracelet. She had her hair in an updo and her makeup was kept simple - smokey eyes with a nude lip colour to keep the dress as the centerpiece. Thumbs up Stone! That has to be my favourite look of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

All time favourite Victoria's Secret model and Tranformers: Dark of the Moon cast Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was seen in a beautiful white Christian Dior tube dress. Huntington paired the dress with a pair of basic white pointed-toe heels. Huntington's minimalist look was jazzed up with her long blonde tresses which she curled to give the sunkissed, beachy waves look. Her makeup was bold - sexy smokey eyes and a statement deep wine lip colour which perfected the effortless yet bold look. Love the outfit, though I'd pair the simple white dress with a statement necklace to give it a bit of an oomph.

Liberty Ross got it all right in this outfit she wore at the film festival. The edgy, printed royal blue long sleeved top was paired with a drapey black silk skirt which balanced the outfit by making it more versatile and elegant. A statement belt accentuates her curves and gives her waist and the skirt a little more definition. Ross' makeup was kept simple yet glamorous. Her edgy hair updo was beautiful and married the whole look together. This look is beautiful on the runway and also perfect for a night out.

Paris Hilton was spotted styling a baby pink dress complete with jewels and sequins which had a mesh drape with feathery detailing which looked wrong from every angle. The feathery detailing, which looked everything like poor workmanship, made her dress look awkward, in my opinion. Also, I didn't quite fancy how the dress cut had an inverted V shape right at the centre where the mesh begins. As much as I love the beautiful detailing on the upper half of the dress, the dress must go. Hilton did get a few things right though. Her makeup was simple yet gorgeous - Hilton's face looked bright and glowing. And of course, not forgetting her famous straight, long blonde hair.

Review : Coffee Bean's Eggs Ben

Decided to have a hearty breakfast with Nad earlier this morning, to catch up after  so long of not meeting her. Went to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Bugis+ and got myself a plate of Eggs Ben. I got a cup of regular Double Chocolate frappĂ© to go along because I needed coffee to perk me up in the morning, especially after Nad made me wake up at such an ungodly hour hahaha.

Now first of all, service was really slow. But that's alright because I suppose the staff mending the cash register was new. Nad got herself a cup of their new Rocky Road frappe which I must say was pretty good. When it hits the tongue, you taste a caramelised coffee flavour and it then leaves a chocolate aftertaste which I really loved because you know, it was like a surpise and who doesnt like surprises.

So when we finally got our breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation because it looks pretty good for something that costs merely $8.90. And the cheese that melted oh so perfectly on top of the toast complete with poached eggs and strips of bacon was heavenly. If I hadn't mentioned earlier, I loooove cheese like I can literally eat cheese all day though that probably wouldn't be too healthy would it. The combination of turkey bacon, cheese and eggs was, as always, really good. However, while the eggs was cooked quite well for mine, the eggs in Nad's smoked salmon eggs benedict was too runny for our liking. The side - cranberry and lettuce  salad topped with chopped almonds and baby tomatoes drizzled with a tropical, sweet and sour dressing (which i have absolutely no idea what) has to be my favourite thing of CBTL breakfast sets. You can't not like their salad it's just too gorgeous and good.

So basically, the wait was probably worth it considering how full I felt after breakfast. Yet, I preferred the ciabatta sandwich I had at their Raffles Hospital outlet with my mum some time back in June.

Verdict : I'd give the Eggs Ben probably a 3.5/5. Though I really enjoyed eating it, it wasn't necessarily my favourite and I'm not sure if I'd go there again just for Eggs Ben. The double chocolate however, is my all time favourite, apart from Caramel frappe which is equally good in my opinion.

On a much brighter note, I was super happy and I swear I felt like a kid when Nad gave me a bag full of Victoria's Secret goodies. The design of the bag is like so totally me and when I saw the scent that she chose - Pure Seduction, I was impressed because that's one of my favourite scents, though I barely tell anyone that. All in all, it definitely was a morning well spent!

Morning Rush : Singapore

It's 9.20 in the morning. Sitting awkwardly on marble seats on the train platform. Dozens of people rushing in trains, packed like canned sardines. People in office wear, casual outfits. Youth plugging in their favourite music on their timeless earphones. The sight of the giant fans at least 5 metres in diameter spinning.

"Doors are closing." I rush in the train like any other train commuter. As I watch the train door close, I squeeze myself in the train cabin, with the door missing my shoulder barely by a centimetre.

No idea why the train is so packed all the time really. Praying for the day they invent double decker trains here.

Bucket List : Perth

If there's one thing that's right at the top of my bucket list, it's probably to travel to Perth.

I've been there a couple of times but its been ages since I've been there. To be real specific, when I was 9.  Well I must say it must've been a memorable experience considering I remember so much about the trip though its been about 10 years already.

Perth. The first thing that pops into my mind has to be the sheeps. I can't be the only one who enjoys watching sheeps frolicking on the grass, sipping tea and having scones topped with cream. The simple joy it provides and the calm atmosphere completely makes me forget about the hustle and bustle of our lives. In fact that's literally the entire reason why Perth is at the top of my bucket list.

Secretly hoping that Liverpool or maybe any part of the UK has nice farms cause if they do I'm telling you, I'd be beyond ecstatic.

There's just something about cottages and farms and all that jazz which really attracts me. Maybe I just like the slow paced environment? I'm not sure but I'll definitely find out. Speaking about slow paced environments, Singapore's environment is becoming increasingly hectic for me, after 19 years of living in this little red dot. Oh well, moving to Liverpool might be a good change for me after all.

First.

Finally decided that starting a blog would be essential, especially to document my university journey starting in September. Super excited for university actually. Well, at least I'm busy with something instead of basically being a couch potato here and lazing around ever since my A's ended. Can I also add that the weather here is increasingly becoming insanely hot and humid? Another reason to look forward to the nicer and more forgiving weather in good ol' Liverpool.

Of course, I'm a tad bit nervous but, I mean who wouldn't if youre literally thrown amongst a bunch of foreigners for 3 years without knowing a single being. But I'm more excited than nervous really. Can't wait to meet lots of new people and mingle with them yay!
